Swell Thing and New Blog colors

Awesome, I just kind of, sort of made a few minor changes to my blog.  Mostly I changed a few of the sidebar things (took out the redundancy), and changed the colors of the backgrounds and text so it suits me a little more.  It is not perfect yet, I still do not like the colors quite, and now my links are all broken.  I do not know how changing the colors broke all the links, but it did, swell.

So for the next few days I am going through every single blog post and changing the links so that they all work properly again.  I may toy with the colors some more to get it closer to my desired design, but for the most part I am done there.

I do not foresee the link fixing as being all that enjoyable, or for that matter useful, but there is this thing about me, that I want the links to work, even if they will never be used by anyone.

One bonus to this is that now I can go through all my post and insert Amazon affiliate links where appropriate, so maybe that will at least help me some.  Ah, who am I kidding, I have had Amazon affiliate links in my post for years and I have earned nothing from them.  Still it is worth a try.  I will only be using text links though now, so there will not be any graphic links, unless it is necessary to the post.

I know, no one cares, and this is more a post for my own edification, but there it is.

Peace
JD

Friends Still Unresolved

Image
From: Letters to No One in Particular These friends that you speak of, yes I know them quite well… they are an illusion to me now. I still think of “friends” that were friends once upon a time, far far away.  I see their lives play out on the screen from the safety of my monitor, alive, but barely living.  Why haven’t we kept in touch, what has changed all that much, I can not say, but it was a long, long ways away. Ah, but I have reached out, here and there, the occasional call, a casual hello, maybe even a conversation sometimes, that will lead to an agreement to meet sometime, but it will never be arranged.  We are all too busy with our lives.  We have all changed, and grew away from that time, we remember, if we choose to, but most of us choose not to, it wasn't all that pretty even back then. The last time we met, I was too strung out to forget, or I was too sober to compete with anyone’s bet.  There were a couple of times I do not regret,...

April 4, 2014 Update in General

Friday, April 4, 2014 Well today I am going to have to call the guy about the land, and update him on our progress.  Which is to say I will have to stall him while I try to figure out how to raise the money for the down payment.  I had thought it was going to be relatively cut and dry, or at least it seemed so, that we were going to the SSA and they would give us the money that they owe Arleta so we could use it to pay the down payment, our first months payment, and still have enough left over to move our stuff.  No, not so, instead they want to argue about it, like it was their money, like we were stealing it from them.  I mean it is SSI not SSD so I guess it is tax payer money, but really, to the point of being almost belligerent to Arleta, trying to bully her, I mean really, how absurd. I have worked up until October of 2012 when Arleta got really sick, and I had to come off the road to take care of her.  With the exception of a few dry months between I ...

Can You See 2020 From Here

Hey, let us all take an interest in this election, won't that be a hoot.  I'm just looking into the Democratic front runners, but I will be looking at them and others for a while. Let's hang out and see what tomorrow brings In the first feel, Biden vs Sanders, it is a east coast vs west coast your of thing.  They are both neocon Democrats with liberal tendencies.  I think, just napkin thinking here, that Biden could have the edge, but Sanders has the cleaner past.  They are not old boy southern Dems, or dyed in the wool blue bloods, or even staunch conservative whip politicians either, so what the hell are they. Shall we dig a little deeper and find out?  Of course we should, and the rest of the political scene.  I am going to avoid the politics of the Republicans for now, it is just too volitile to touch right at the moment, even for me. And one other thing, I am now looking at the markets again, so yea, that might skip into my account as well, just sa...
