A Case for Hemp

While I am not one to usually chime in on this, I would like to at least give a few words about the commercial potential for industrial hemp. I myself was a user of pot, the kind you smoke to get “high”, but I have given that up in pursuit of more useful things, such as clear thought and persistent memory.  However over the years I have investigated and learned that there is great potential in industrial hemp. With the spotlight currently on the proposals being presented by Colorado, Washington, and Oregon, as test cases for the medical use, and possible recreational use of marijuana, I thought I would again consider the potential for commercial production of industrial hemp.  Although there is greater potential for the production of medical marijuana, there is still exceptional value and potential in the production of industrial hemp. The Facing Place 10-16-2011 JED

The Facing Place  (The Story of a Store) What is a store, but a place to store things.  The basis that it has a retail aspect is but an effect of the fact that it stores things.  The goods that a store has is what is provided to it from the people who make things, or harvest things, or otherwise bring into reality, stuff that needs storage.  These are things that are over and above those things that each individual could have, or would have, in such quantities as that they had a surplus of things, such as that they would need additional storage for that surplus.  Being that they do not have the storage for the surplus, and short of building storage for the surplus, they have no place to place this surplus of things, so they need storage. They could purchase storage, but then they would need an ever increasing amount of storage for those things that do not perish, and would need to distribute or dispose of those things that do perish, creating the need for a...

Not Yet Another Not For Profit

Forming a not for profit, focussed on agriculture and traditional economics. My goal here is to form a not for profit that will focus on traditional economics, such as preserving the arts of handcrafts and those centered around agriculture. This is a work in progress most definitely.

China sweats, we might want to worry a little

Market Scan China Sweats U.S. Debt Securities, Pressuring Prices Melinda Peer, 03.13.09, 10:25 AM EDT Apprehension from Beijing regarding its the security of its massive U.S. assets causes prices on Treasuries to fall. If they are concerned, maybe we should be concerned. This is a big O can of WTF that is yet to be fully opened. I can at this time only say, wow, where did it all go, where did it go?

From the Alex Jones Prison Planet file Finance

http://www.prisonplanet.com/aig-reports-record-loss-as-us-rescues-insurer-again.html This article requires further investigation, but it does indicate what I have been investigating on the movement of the capital from the treasury into foreign hands. I am still looking into this and will post additional information as I discover further details. However, it should be noted that as we continue to approve of supporting these financiers because they are to important to let fail, we must remember that we have only ourselves to blame when they have taken all our money and are laughing at us as we suffer in debt we can never repay.

Done to Ourselves (facebook repost)

Upon reading several post, and with current knowledge of understanding, it is not surprising to me that which is presented here. However it is only half of the story, if even that much. First do not blame the governments or other entities as they were not the ones that allowed this to happen, we the people allowed it to happen. We cried out for this, and gave the people with whom we entrusted the ability and writ to do so. That and we spoke with our dollars. We continued to purchase goods at Walmarts and their ilk sending our dollars to these countries. We continued to show with our purchasing dollars and our willingness to be overtly subdued by media, that we wanted this. We are the cause of our own misfortune. Do not blame the opportunist for taking advantage of the opportunity we afforded them. The fact is this was done before any of us were alive. These deals you talk about are only the overt movements of what was covert long ago before we even were aware of life, period. ...

And you Have the Key

This post by a good friend of mine, provides a great parable of the times. Check it out on his MySpace blog.
GM Seeks as Much as $16.6 Billion in New U.S. Aid Feb. 18 (Bloomberg) -- General Motors Corp. asked the U.S. for as much as $16.6 billion in new loans, more than doubling the aid to date, and said it needs some of the cash next month to survive as it sheds brands and cuts 47,000 more jobs worldwide. Chrysler LLC, propped up like GM with federal assistance, said it’s seeking $5 billion more from the government and will shed 3,000 more positions. Now isn't this a sticky wicket? I do not envy Mr. Obama in this situation. There is a lot riding on this, although I do think the auto makers are making it a little more dire than it is, as if they don't the public sentiment will not be sufficiently scared to move their representatives to pass the buck so to speak. I think Mr. Obama will have to take a strong and perhaps unfavorable stance on this one, but I don't see how he can take any other position. Sometimes you have to let the old dogs die, sometimes you have to put them ...
Microsoft announces $250000 Conflicker worm bounty Amidst the recession they are opening stores, while they still have not figured out how to secure their operating system. Although I guess some of that is that they have a larger target, but not all of it. So now Microsoft is going the way of the sheriff, if you can't fix it, throw some more money around and let the people who fix these things actually do your job. They set a bad presidence here, saying that if you create a bad virus that Microsoft can not find the fix for, they will give you money to fix it. Cyber bounty hunters, how long did it take, I had been waiting for Microsoft to do this for some years now, I don't think this will work either. Interesting that it is a pacific rim infection, sort of like a test of infections spreading from the east, and can they transfer to the west. So far we have kept the eastern viruses from spreading, or is that what they are telling us... can't think like that can we. The...
I've Seen This for a While Now The Coming Re-becoming Yet another great piece by James Howard Kunstler, on Cluster Fuck Nation. If you do drive around at all and you have not observed this condition, then reading this article will be a waste of time. If have noticed the slow burn of the country, from within, then reading this will only re-enforce your convictions. So either go back to watching the dribble on TV and go back to sleep safe in the thought that the Mole was discovered. Or, or you could look around and realize that the fairy tale is over, and maybe do something about it. Whatever, James
