Clusterfuck Nation Archive Index

Clusterfuck Nation Archive Index Just take a moment to check out Jim's fascinating site. Although I don't agree totally with what he has to say, I do agree with the basic grit he has.
Watching Me On 20/20 last night they had a story about search engines and what they track. So they hinted at the fact that search engines track me. Besides already knowing this, I also subscribe to Stumble , Digg , MySpace , and several other social and bookmarking sites, all of which track how I use the web. It is my experiment to see if I can be tracked throughout the web. I really would like to see what others think I am thinking. Can they tell from what I search what I think? I guess it will take some time to figure out. I also have several blogs, which all have different aspects of how I work on things. So maybe if they put it all together they might get some idea, but somehow I do not think they will. I somehow think that if they did put everything together I might be expecting a knock on the door from the government. It is not that I am subversive per se, but that I certainly touch on lots of subversive subjects. But what is subversive? I think that subversion is ki

Diabetes researchers convert pancreas cells to produce insulin - Los Angeles Times

Diabetes researchers convert pancreas cells to produce insulin - Los Angeles Times By Karen Kaplan, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer August 28, 2008 "Injecting a cocktail of proteins directly into the bodies of diabetic mice, researchers have converted normal pancreas cells into insulin-producing cells -- a genetic transformation that could pave the way for treating intractable diseases and injuries using a patient's own supply of healthy tissue." Having read this article about using proteins to change the properties of functioning cells to perform the work of non functioning cells shows promise. I do have my concerns, but this definitely requires additional research to address my concerns about their delivery by a virus, and if they have the ability to turn the method off.

Manila Bulletin Online

Manila Bulletin Online Finfishes featured in Sept. agri-mag Article that covers many different articles available about Organic and Natural Farming. I have yet to discover all they have but they should be worth reading anyhow. They have a nice feature, their Desktop Headlines . They do not seem to have any RSS feature, something they should consider. Another news resource worth looking into.

ARISE to show new voting device- Syracuse.com

ARISE to show new voting device- Syracuse.com On the Voting Machine files: This article discusses the use of a new voting machine to enable people with disabilities to vote without assistance. On the surface this is a great idea, and like most good ideas, I am concerned that this will be a "good idea at the time" type of idea. I agree that people with disabilities should have the right and ability to vote, privately and without encumbrance, however I have my doubts about electronic voting machines. If voting were to be done electronically perhaps it should be done from our own homes via a web interface, either way there is too much potential for tampering. However this goes to the voting doesn't really matter anymore file. For now I am still researching this and will provide new information when I run into more information.
