The Price of Technology

WicInd Group must consider the implications of bleeding edge technologies that are currently available, for they represent the edge that we need to compete above the composition. The TCO of this type of initiative is negligible compared to the cost of not having the advantage in the marketplace when we are ready to attack the marketplace. When we are ready to take advantage of the technology, we will need to have policies, guidance and training programs in place to make the transition happen. From common services, to the entire enterprise, WicInd Group should look to where technologies that are only now under development can improve our function as well form.

Mapping the Future

WicInd Group is presented with the opportunity to map the future. To take the technologies that are currently developed and in development and crerate a new map of what will be in the areas where we utilize these technologies. Currently the arcitechure provided by the major chip manufacturers provides us with a base from which we can develop new and different applications, including OS type applications, that will provide us with new frontiers of utilization. New applications in intuitive operations can be built upon the hardware that can be developed to take the best advantage of todays developments and tomorrows advancements. We have the opportunity to learn from the universities how to develop new directions, and then take our organization and therefore the technology through new directions.

Jumping Point

WicInd Group has an open field to work from, but we must start with something. This is a guidance; from where we currently stand.

Guidance 01:

  1. 32 bit technology represents a filed of limits that have been exhausted, however they are stable to the n degree which should be considered the beginning of the build out to other technologies.

  2. 64 bit technologies are the standard on which we must develop our technologoies in order to best poise our organization for the benfits of the technology that is developing currently at the time of this writing.

  3. Windows® is the OS of default used currently by nearly 70% of the technology installations used in operations today from a consumer perspective.

    1. Windows® owns the desktop.

  4. Linux represents the NKotB-OS, for both the server and the desktop. It also provides an alternative to the more expensive and archaic OSes that are available, such as IBM s400, Sun Solaris, and other flavors of UNIX.

    1. The desktop is a fading interface, and with it will fade the standards of over-bloated OSes with GUI.

    2. Linux and UNIX are the only platforms for which true intuitive HUI are being built around, as Windows® and other GUI centric OSes have settled on the point and click interface.

  5. VRML provides a interface language that will provide a spacial interface that can react to the user in a 3 dimensional manor, using gestures and spacial data to interact with files that are iconic in nature, and representative of the standards of document development, while the backend will process the information and access huge data bases of (over 1,000 TB) common use algorithms to produce higher rates of accurate results from multiple inputs and sensors.

    1. The monitor will react to the user in an intuitive manor, capturing inflection, gestures, and attention awareness, this will make the standards of point and click nearly obsolete.

    2. Expansion of the sensory perception of the intuitive HUI will provide a depth of experience that will make the use of the HUI far greater through ordinary use, and integrated into all formulas of operations, while leaving the users (androgynous) to the work of cogitation in cooperative manors unavailable at this time.

    3. Common gateways, leaving the network open and having security that filters not content, nor for code as code will be built into the instruction set, not the software layer, to be open for interpretations, nearly eliminating the need for virus detection, *ware removal, or translation theorems.

    4. Current Guidance provides the roadmap to build upon for new avenues of interface and operations that eliminates the use of software OS and puts processes into the hardware where it is not susceptible to the hazards of the networks.

  6. More will have to be developed to fully develop a independent, non-OS centric network that will provide the diverse and intuitive operation of technology that is set forth in this guidance.

Working from the 32 bit architecture we currently have to run, we can view the world outside through various network connections and the World Wide Web. The newer developments that are only poised for implementation are such technologies as www2, internet2, and autonomic networks. These technologies require greater power in the areas of processing path and larger memory limits, and storage facility. To facilitate this WicInd Group has embarked on the new roadmap to development of the next network.

WicInd Group Next Network Roadmap Guidance

  1. Using 64 bit technologies we will begin to develop new architectures that will give WicInd Group the advantage of enabling our networks to operate at twice current bandwidth, in current allowance, while offering simple upgrade to new wider path bandwidth protocols as they become available.

  2. Implementing this hardware is a provision of our founding; we are currently on a base that will allow for upgrade of all networks, as no networks have been established at this point. Therefore we have as much to gain in the next level of implementation as with the current implementation.

  3. WicInd Group will implement ipnetwork2 in all internal network protocols, according to the current implementation, with interpreters for current IP network translations until IPnetwork2 is implemented on standards. This will help to develop the use of the network2 protocols, and therefore increase the implementation of safer and higher speed networks worldwide.
